Everyone knows that to create electric power different fuels and fossils are burned and these fossil fuels contain a big amount of Sulphur and their burning converts into the production of sulfur dioxide SO2. This happens when the fuel has a normal amount of oxygen gas but in case the fuel has a big amount of oxygen than this method will not work. The temperature of the gas also matters in the production of sulphur dioxide. This gas can be very dangerous for the environments and for the health of people. All the power plants burn fossil fuel to produce the electricity and the burning of these fossils produce a big amount of sulphur dioxide which is very toxic and harming the environment.
As a solution for this problem many power plants are coming up with different methods through which they can decrease the production of sulphur dioxide during the production of electric power. Flue Gas Desulfurization has been installed to decrease the production of harmful gases. In this system, time is being used. This is the most useful material when it comes to removing the so2 and HCl from the environment and from fuel gases. This technology is also being used for the removal of mercury. In electric plants, at least 90 to 99 percent of this component is being used to control the production of so2. There are two methods, which are being used to remove this gas from the fuels during the production of electric power, dry scrubbing and wet scrubbing, and for both methods, lime is the most component.
Dry Lime Scrubbing
This method is based on time, which gets injected in the fuel gases directly. To do that, spray dryers are being used. The dryer is consisting of a cylinder top and a bottom in a cone shape. Lime slurry is being injected into the cylinder through the atomizer, which absorbs the so2 and HCl. This is the most beneficial way of removing the so2 and HCl from the fuel gases and in most places, only this method is being used.
Wet Lime Scrubbing
In this method, the time gets added to the water and sprayed into the gases scrubber. In this method, the gas enters in the cylinder and after getting cleaned it comes up to the top. The sulfur dioxide gets absorbed in the spray.
By using these technologies, the industrialist is trying to decrease the harm to the environment which can be caused due to power plants.
